Having grown up in the bean counting era, I can't fathom how they ever were.
I'm just happy that they were.

I think the problem now is a car is an appliance where it used to be a sense of pride

2000 Chrysler Convertible.
If only we could combine the looks of the old car with the modern safety standards, driveability, useability, quality (well.....maybe not chrysler quality), and fuel economy of the new cars.

Thank God Virgil Exner wasn't alive to see the decline of Chrysler style. If he wasn't already dead this would have killed him

That's a beautiful Chrysler 300F, with up to 400hp. Fantastic car. What a legend.

I think nostalgia makes old cars look better and modern cars look worse, but we will never have those points and lines again due to safety rules and regulations.

I definitely agree with you. When I see an old car I see an ambassador for an era gone by. The designs are still wonderful but they have the added benefit of history and memories connected to them. I am sure one day that will happen it the cars we see today as well
